We were tasked with a renovation and remodel of an existing ranch house in Lampasas, TX.
The team did a lot of "visual listening" to elicit solutions that honor and preserve the spirit of the original residence while upgrading finishes and updating and refining the plan geometry and adjacencies to maximize function and beauty.
(Note: The house was originally designed by Texas architect Franch Welch.)
Our clients desired a warm, minimalist large-scale home on a sloped lot.
We sited the house to disappear into the landscape with a detached garage concealed with a sodded green roof and a basketball court. This design elegantly used the challenging topography to minimize massing, maximized privacy, and create a warm and minimalist design.
